About Gary Potterfield

Author

Gary Potterfield spent more than twenty years as a Navy journalist, including twelve years in Italy, where he fell in love with the language, the culture, the food, the rhythm of daily life—and, most importantly, his Sicilian wife, Anna Maria.

Those years gave him the raw material for Sicily By Noone, a mystery series told through the eyes of Milo Noone, a former Navy journalist whose life occasionally resembles Gary’s own, though Gary insists he has been involved in far fewer murders.

Gary’s writing blends mystery, humor, family, food, and the irresistible complications of Sicilian life. His stories are rooted in real places, real affection, and the belief that even the darkest secrets are best uncovered after a good espresso.

When he isn’t writing, Gary can usually be found on the pickleball court, working on another creative project, or spending time with his wife, two daughters, and grandson in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, or Sicily.
